These past few weeks have been run around hectic, but I had to take a break for Disneyland before my pass expires next week!

Foodie Friday: Green beans

Green beans are an absolute necessity on Thanksgiving and works wonderfully as a side to dish to a lot of meals. I love love them!

After seeing Angela's rendition of cold green beans, I had to try something similar myself so I grabbed some like ingredients from around my somewhat empty cupboards and voila!

Hers:



1. White wine vinegar
2. Sugar
3. Soy sauce
4. Sesame seeds
5. Chilled

Mine:



1. Sugar
2. Soy sauce
3. Rice vinegar
4. Partially chilled
(I was too excited and hungry to let them cool completely)

Foodie Friday: Nate's Cafe

Fairmount Park is a little neighborhood just southeast of me, but you could have fooled me for Julian when passing this cozy cafe. Nate's Cafe was very homey, it felt like my grandmothers house from the inside and reminded me of the countryside on the outside, covered in plants and knick-knacks and conveniently located next to the cutest nursery I've ever stepped foot in!

I quickly Yelped this place while only a few blocks away, reading that the veggie benedict was the way to go and a quick tip to check out the nursery next door...which is exactly what I did!











The benedict was outstanding, a total twist on the regular ol' ham, egg and muffin with hollandaise sauce. In place of ham was sauteed spinach, mushrooms and onions and topped the whole shebang with avocado. And the side of fruit? Glorious. Quite possibly the best fresh peach I've tasted. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast joint (they also have an abundance of sandwiches).

My apologies for the unintentional break these past two weeks, I've been overwhelmed with working since recovering from my lingering sickness (that is finally dissipating 23 days later) and finding a new apartment.

We can all let out a big, deep breath because I FOUND A STUDIO. After a very long and tireless search and many apartment viewings later, I have found a place for my fancy switchplates and myself to call home.
