The Hangover II plus snacks

After grabbing bagels (jalapeno cheese with sun dried tomato spread) Jon had to basically drag me to the theater as I didn't have very high hopes for The Hangover II. I'm not a fan of sequels in general (minus Back to the Future, Scream and Toy Story), but it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Although it was indeed the same movie, different location as the first.

Funny little story, I filled a water bottle with Sprite that I could sneak into the theater ($5 for a soda is unacceptable) and inevitably left it at home. When we parked I realized the water bottle was missing so we grabbed a bottle of Sprite at the corner store and I smuggled it in. Since Jon bought our tickets via Groupon it randomly came with two small drinks. Oops. Popcorn for the movie: extra butter and some hot sauce, please!

black on black on black

I've worn all black everything for a majority of my life and I'd be lying if I said that 90% or less of my closet wasn't black. It's classic, simple and goes with damn near everything. Sure, I might own 20 t-shirts that all look the same, but maybe the neckline is different or there is one little detail that sets it apart from all the others, then I have to have it.

The other night I counted my shoes out of boredom and came up with 22 pairs of black shoes alone, plus these beauts from Hong Kong finally arrived! ::swoon::

mini golf adventures

Yesterday Jon and I grabbed lunch at Sipz then took advantage of all day passes to Boomers that he bought through Groupon. It was a little disheartening when we got there to find out that the batting cages, arcade games and bumper boats were not included, but we had a blast playing mini golf and go-karting around. We even splurged and played some arcade games anyway!

Foodie Friday: Thai Style Noodle House

Las Vegas has some good and definitely weird vegetarian restaurants located right in the heart of China Town.

This time around a friend suggested Veggie Delight, but while looking over their lunch menu I noticed Thai Style Noodle House next door and opted for that instead. Jon has never tried Thai food (this kid doesn't like vegetables OR spice) so it took a bit of coercing, but luckily in the end he really loved it. I'm also down with any restaurant that has an extra complete vegan/vegetarian menu.

Dessert was a must! Though I usually get mangoes with sticky rice, we went for the fried bananas; a little too greasy for my taste, but wonderfully paired with the ice cream and honey.

PRB in Las Vegas

Every year Jon participates in the Punk Rock Bowling tournament in Las Vegas. Last year it just so happened to fall on my birthday weekend and this year, Memorial. It's fun, but busy busy.

This year Jon's team placed 8th of 150 teams, which included an awesome $400 for the team and a sweet trophy. We also put $60 on black (roulette) and doubled our money :) Here are some nifty pictures from along the way and stay tuned for a food post later this week. I hope you all had a wonderful and safe holiday weekend!

after yelping pizza in vegas, this little "pizzeria" inside the new cosmopolitan came up. everyone said it was hidden, and boy was it ever. it's impossible to find without asking someone and is located down a very little hallway between all these fancy restaurants. finding it was a little adventure and even more rewarding because the pizza was tasty.
